The Blue of it All by Manahil Zafar

Take a breath and look around.
People with faces you’ve never seen before walk by in flurries of green, pink, blue. As blue as the clearest of skies.
Wander the corridors and stop!
Stop and stare out every window looking into the garden. Cross your fingers in the hope that you’ll see something new from each angle.
Now keep walking.
Walk until you reach the heavy mahogany door leading to the terrace.
See the waves of the Hudson gently passing by and grin—for you have successfully travelled back in time. Back to when it was much simpler.
And as you watch the blue slowly fade, you do too.
Until all that is left is the feeling.
